Yes, DFS replication of such stuff is not recommended.   I remember trying
to do it before and it wasn't happy... This was with small files however (
~ 1 meg in size)... There was also something I recall about the size of
the staging area being a limiting factor for replication but alas, I
cannot recall the specifics... check google!
